On the subject of a lying journalist it is best to fire him and remove his articles and have an apology, as well as a list of which articles were fabrications. Fining him would always lead to the question of who gets the money and an argument that would not likely be worth it in the end and prison is far too harsh a punishment. They should be allowed to profit from movie/book deals, they'll likely need the money since they'll be out of a job. Plus, it's their life story, not someone else's.
Eric, I can always count on you to take an interesting angle on any topic. Yes, it is his life that the book and movie are based on, so it can be argued that it's his story to sell. You are also right, that he'll be out of work for sometime because no other publication will touch him. Good work meeting the deadline. Could use an image.
